This year, Infinity Health proudly celebrates 20 years as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)—a milestone rooted in vision, community spirit, and a deep commitment to accessible healthcare.

The journey began in Lamoni, Iowa, where a group of dedicated individuals saw a need and came together to make a difference. In the late 1990s, Jim McKinney Sr., Dr. Patricia Magle-Jones, and Bonnie Orris (Bridge) held meetings—many of them at the local Pizza Shack—with a shared goal: to bring a modern medical clinic to the Lamoni community. Their efforts led to the formation of Healthcare Development of Lamoni, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and in 1997, the first clinic was officially opened.

Guided by a passionate and committed board that included community leaders like Bill Morain and Shirley Kessel, the clinic grew stronger. In 2005, the organization was asked to become a Federally Qualified Health Center. With hard work and determination, a successful grant was written, and Community Health Centers of Southern Iowa was born.

As the organization expanded to serve more communities across southern Iowa and northern Missouri, a rebranding took place in 2022. Now known as Infinity Health, the name reflects the breadth of services and the ongoing mission to provide whole-person care without barriers.

Today, Infinity Health operates 11 locations offering primary care, behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, oral health, and pharmacy services to patients across the region.

On August 6, 2025, during National Health Center Week, the Infinity Health Lamoni Clinic hosted a celebration to mark this 20-year milestone. As part of the event, Founder Awards were presented to key individuals who were instrumental in creating and shaping what is now Infinity Health:
