INFINITY HEALTH IMPROVES ACCESS TO BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES
December 19, 2022
LEON, IA (December 19, 2022) – Infinity Health recently implemented a Same Day Access (SDA) and Just In Time (JIT) program to increase access to behavioral health services and decrease wait times. The implementation enhances access to mental health counseling and psychiatric services by reducing the timeframe to be seen for an appointment to as little as one week or less. Their patients will continue to receive high-quality services with greater treatment outcomes.
“For decades, the state of Iowa has struggled to provide timely access to mental health services at the time of need for both adults and children. Infinity Health is implementing new models to greatly improve access to mental health services including psychiatry, mental health counseling and substance use counseling.” stated Danielle O’Brien-Day, Director of Behavior Health. “Just In Time (JIT) will allow Infinity Health to offer access to psychiatric services within 3-5 days once fully implemented. Same Day Access (SDA) will allow both adults and children to receive mental health and/or substance use counseling assessment the same day it is requested. “
Additional to the SDA and JIT implementations, Infinity Health offers in-person, as well as telehealth and telepsych services. The telehealth services include mental health counseling, psychiatry, substance use counseling, and more. Infinity Health is committed to serving their southern Iowa and Northern Missouri communities and providing them with options to access the care they deserve. Infinity Health provides behavioral health services in Albia, Centerville, Chariton, Corydon, Knoxville, Lamoni, Leon, Mt. Ayr and Osceola, Iowa, in addition to Bethany and Princeton Missouri and surrounding areas.
“There are a number of barriers to care that our patients and communities contend with on a daily basis. Busy schedules, transportation limitations, and challenges with childcare are just a few of the obstacles they may be experiencing,” Samantha Cannon, CEO stated. “Our telehealth services allow our providers to meet our patients where they are, increasing access to the care they need when they need it.”
